We will be going on Imagination Destination Writing Excursions three (3) times this week, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

On Tuesday and Friday, your student is going to blog about their Imagination Destination Writing Excursions on Kidblog. This is a safe digital website which was designed with students and their safety in mind.  The only people who will be able to see the blogs are the campers and their parents.  Also, as a parent you will be able to comment positively on blog posts, as well.  Keeping it positive here because the focus is on improvement!

Please have your student go to this link, Kidblog, and follow the directions below:
1.  Go to the above link Kidblog - Back 2 School Boot Camp
2.  Click on Log In in the upper left hand corner - DO NOT create a new account
3.  Find your name in the drop down menu (first name only)

9.  Comment by telling me something that you have loved to do this summer
10. Bookmark this page on the device you will be bringing, so you will have easy access to it.

On Tuesday and Thursday, the Math times will be longer, allowing us time to COOK WITH FRACTIONS, as well as other fun math activities.

During Session 2, we will be reading Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry.
This imaginative story will have your student on the edge of their seat and keep them guessing to the end.  The books will be provided to you on the first day and are included in the cost of the camp.

In addition, study skills, such as how to take notes, study for tests, and get your school supplies organized will be covered during the afternoon.

Imagination Destinations Writing Excursions

Back 2 School Boot Camp believes in getting students outside in order to be inspired by the world we live in.

Each day campers will set out on a surprise destination and will use their senses to write exciting insightful narratives.  Destinations are within walking distance and writing will occur all along the way.

At least one day will be devoted to nonfiction writing inspired by a nature walk.

Students will be able to take pictures to illustrate their stories during the writing process.

"A Star and a Wish" feedback provided by me, as well as other campers, will take place various times during our writing excursions.

After we return to base camp, students will edit their story and then upload to a Back 2 School Boot Camp blog.  In this way, students will be able to share their writing inspiring other campers, family, and friends.
